“Late have I loved Thee, O Beauty ever ancient, ever new,” says St. Augustine in his Confessions. Especially for those who have not yet been introduced to the great books, art, ideas, and discoveries of the Western tradition, the St. Barnabas Institute seeks to uplift hearts and minds by offering frequent Symposium nights.

These evenings are typically held on a culturally rich feast day and consist of food and beverages as well as a lecture. In the spirit of the symposia of ancient Greece, we consider these evenings a banquet of ideas, nourishing the intellects of those who perhaps have only been living on grains of truth and replenishing the imagination of those who thirst for beauty.
